England Announces Squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed the 15-player squad that will represent England at the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The tournament, to be held in India, will see England defend its title.

The squad, which was selected by the England Men's selection panel, includes several experienced players, such as captain Jos Buttler, vice-captain Ben Stokes, and all-rounder Moeen Ali.

Experienced Core

The squad features a number of players with extensive international experience. Buttler, Stokes, and Ali have been key members of the England team for several years and have played in multiple Cricket World Cups.

Other experienced players in the squad include Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, and Chris Woakes, all of whom have played in at least one Cricket World Cup.

Rising Stars

The squad also includes some rising stars, such as Sam Northeast, Phil Salt, and David Payne. Northeast is a top-order batsman who has impressed for Gloucestershire in recent seasons, while Salt is a wicketkeeper-batsman who has played for England in T20Is.

Payne is a left-arm spinner who has been in excellent form for Gloucestershire in the County Championship.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be held from October 26 to November 13 in India. England is one of the favorites to win the tournament, having won the previous edition in 2019.
