This short-term forecast provides a 30 to 90 minute prediction of the location and intensity of the aurora. The Aurora 30 product is based on the OVATION model. Check the charts below for a prediction of the auroras visibility tonight and tomorrow night. The aurora does not need to be directly overhead but can be observed from as much as a 1000 km away when the aurora is bright and if conditions are right.

Using measurements of the solar wind just upstream of Earth, the Aurora 30 product estimates the following global geomagnetic activity:
- Kp index: 3
- Dst index: -20 nT
Below you'll find the expected global geomagnetic conditions. The higher the Kp or Dst index, the greater the chance of seeing the aurora.
